So my idea is to install a lift kit on my Frontier, which would mean I'll need to consider a tire upgrade, so I need some recommendations. What are some good kits and what size can I go for? I'm looking for 2 or maybe 3 inches of lift

Rough Country and ReadyLIFT are great options to consider for a 2-3in lift. Tirewise, you could rock 33's without to much trouble but doublecheck clearance to avoid surprises when turning.

If you're considering a leveling kit, I'd suggest going for a 2 to 3 inch option. Brands like Rough Country and ReadyLift have some really good choices. With a 2-inch lift, you can easily fit 265/75R16 or 265/70R17 tires. If you go for the 3-inch lift, you might be able to squeeze in some 285/70R17s, although you might need to do a bit of trimming. I've done something similar on my truck, and it was definitely worth the investment.

Everyone has said it all, rough country wins, another nice suggestion is old man emu have solid kits. With the lift, you can usually fit 285/75R16s, maybe 33s with minor trimming.

I know there seems to be a consensus already but I want to offer a different suggestion. First off, the year and model of your Frontier are important here as that will affect which kits and parts fit best.

For a 2-3" lift, you can go with a basic spacer lift, which is cheap and easy, but keeps the stock ride, or you can go with a full suspension kit from brands llike All Dogs Offroad or Dobinnsons which will improve your ride quality and off-road performance!

Tire-wise, with a 2" lift, a 265/75R16 or similar size is a safe bet and usually fits without any rubbing. For a 3" lift, you could run a 33-inch tire, like a 285/75R16, but be prepared to do some trimming of the plastic wheel wells. Also, the wheel's offset plays a big part so sticking close to the stock offset helps avoid rubbing!
