bro just got this 2022 Nissan Frontier 4x4, manual transmission, no mods. Sounds like a sweet truck, right? Sure, except that it's got this weird "rattle" that's driving him nuts.
It's one of those off and on things, mostly when he's just cruising along at low to mid speeds with light acceleration.
Disappears at highway speeds, doesn't seem to hurt performance at all. He does have an ongoing check engine light for the catalytic converter, but that's the only code.
I wanted to help him and thought about a loose heat shield. I found one flapping around on the driver's side (two out of three bolts sheared!) and pulled it off, but nope, I still got the rattle.
The passenger side heat shield is solid, I helped him check. I can hear the noise pretty clearly, and it definitely gets worse when he pushes the gas.
Any idea what this could be?
