Junkyard parts

My 2005 Frontier isn't running and there are a few things I need to replace. The starter motor is first and based on the previous owner the alternator is bad as well and I'm sure there are a few other things I'll need to change before I start it. My question is about getting parsts from a junkyard. I know they can be a hit and miss, but they are much much more cheaper than new ones, even those aftermarket replacement parts, so is it wortht he risk?

Junkyard parts can save a ton. but for alternators and starters for example, it would be great if you can test them or if a warranty is in place.Just inspect for obvious wear or damage and maybe have a backup plan if the part doesn't work out, i guess

Well it's worth a shot if you're trying to save cash, especially for older rigs. But make sure you bring a tester if you can and maybe grab a backup if the price is right. :)

bro, many people are getting parts from a junkyard, just check it first if it's in good condition. don't fall for the cheap price, make sure you take a really good check on the condition
